Paul J. Michael is a veteran stage director whose work includes numerous productions in New York City.  He was an original company member of Broadway's Beauty and the Beast and has worked at many Off-Broadway theatres, including Ensemble Studio Theatre, Circle Rep and The Actor's Playhouse. Directing credits include Jan Buttram's An Island to Themselves (starring Kathleen Chalfant, Zoe Kazan and Bobby Steggert), Harley Adams' Play #3 (winner of the Samuel French Festival), and Minus Some Buttons (a currently published Samuel French play as a result of this production). Paul most recently directed the award winning one woman show, Brownsville Bred.


Paul has also written and directed numerous cabaret acts for many Broadway performers at established NYC cabaret venues including Don't Tell Mama, Eighty Eights, The Duplex and Rose's Turn.  Regional credits include Torch Song Trilogy, Agnes of God, The Mousetrap, What the Butler Saw, Geography of a Horse Dreamer and Blithe Spirit. Paul and Cyrena Esposito co-founded the Olympia Theatre Company, for which he serves as Artistic Director and which has produced numerous plays over the past two decades both regionally and in New York City.


Paul is the founder and Executive Director of The Network where he has personally interviewed and advised over 12,000 actors.
